Spring has sprung, and Dunkin’ is celebrating with a fresh lineup of seasonal treats! From colorful iced beverages to sweet pastries, the new spring menu promises to bring a burst of flavor to your coffee breaks. Olivia Clement and I went out to review the new items.
First up, we tried the Arctic Cherry Energy. This fizzy drink blended cherry, blueberry, and grapefruit flavors into a surprisingly refreshing mix. We gave it a 7/10. “It almost tasted like an Alani,” Olivia said.
Next, we sampled the Cotton Candy Specialty Donut. Filled with cotton candy-flavored buttercream and topped with strawberry icing and blue sprinkles, it looked more exciting than it tasted. We gave it a 6/10. “It could’ve had more buttercream in the center,” Olivia said.
Lastly, we tried the Blueberry Sprinkle Munchkin, a blueberry-flavored donut hole covered in blue sprinkles. Unfortunately, this one didn’t hit the mark. We rated it a 3/10. The flavor combination just didn’t work for us, and it mostly just tasted almost chalky because of how much sprinkles were included.
I asked students to share their thoughts on some of the new spring menu items.
Senior Maddie Esposito tried the Raspberry Watermelon Refresher and gave it a solid 9/10. “It was sweet but also sour, and the watermelon flavor isn’t overpowering at all,” she said. Maddie also gave the drink bonus points for its fun pink color.
Senior Kenzie McCormick had the Arctic Cherry Energy Drink, which she rated a 6/10. “It tasted similar to the White Glacier Cherry Gatorade,” she explained.
Junior Landen Tych sampled both the Arctic Cherry Energy Drink and the Cotton Candy Donut. Like Kenzie, he gave the energy drink a 6/10, saying, “It tastes almost like a Capri Sun.” As for the donut, he rated it an 8/10, describing it as “very sweet, but it mostly tastes like a strawberry frosted donut.”
Freshman Kaileen Diaz tried the Blueberry Sprinkle Munchkins and gave them a 5/10. “It just had too many sprinkles, and that took away from the blueberry flavor,” she said.
Overall, the Dunkin spring line up has brought some color to the menu, but not every item was a hit. The cotton candy seemed to be a standout. Trying the new seasonal flavors was a fun way to switch up our usual orders. Dunkins spring items are definitely worthy of a taste test.
