Beyonce has officially kicked off her Cowboy Carter Tour in Los Angeles. The pop and now country icon opened her tour on April 28, 2025 in Sofi Stadium. This is Beyonce’s tenth solo tour, and it is significantly smaller than her tours in the past. The Cowboy Carter Tour is only making stops in nine cities, including: Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Houston, Washington D.C, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Paris, and London. This is a drastic difference compared to her Renaissance tour in 2023, which visited 39 cities.
Beyonce has taken a deeper meaning with this tour, displaying themes of patriotism through her songs and visuals. The set list includes 39 songs spanning from Cowboy Carter, Renaissance, and a few singles and mashups from past albums. The show is nearly three hours long.
Fans were ecstatic to learn that this tour features dancing from Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy. Blue Ivy has always been a part of Beyonce’s career by being featured on songs and attending award shows. However, fans started to really love Blue Ivy when she was featured dancing to the song “My Power” when she was just eleven years old during the Renaissance Tour. Since then, Blue Ivy became a fan favorite, even dancing with Beyonce at her NFL Christmas Day Halftime performance. On the Cowboy Carter Tour, Blue Ivy dances in nearly every number. She even has a solo moment, dancing to her mom’s hit song “Deja Vu.” At just thirteen years old, it’s looking like Blue Ivy has a bright future and career in performing ahead of her.
Another moment that fans are loving is Beyonce’s performance of her song “PROTECTOR,” along with her daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi. “PROTECTOR” is a song that Beyonce dedicated to her children, singing about how she will always protect them and be proud of them. In this heartfelt moment on stage, Beyonce sings with Blue Ivy and Rumi by her side. Rumi Carter, who is just seven years old, loves being on stage with her family, making sure to wave to every person in the stadium. Videos of this sweet moment are going viral on social media and it has become something that fans look forward to every show.
Senior Kenzie McCormick praised Beyonce and her tour, explaining that though some artists are not strong in all areas, Beyonce continues to thrive in multiple genres and eras. Kenzie also shares her love for Beyonce’s family values that she is displaying on this tour. “She’s so family oriented without keeping her family in the media. A lot of stars don’t know how to keep their personal life and family private, but Beyonce shows enough to the public, and you can truly see the love and protection that she has for them.”
Kenzie praised Blue Ivy for her performance on this tour and growth over the years. Kenzie feels that Blue Ivy is not just a nepo baby who became famous because of who her mom is, but she deserves it because of her hard work and talents. Kenzie perfectly summed up how important this tour is to so many fans and the symbolism behind it. “It’s really powerful for a black woman to have such an American and patriotic tour, just because of the state of America right now and how it has been in the past. Even in the mess that our country is today she is portraying true patriotism and love for our country, displaying its original values.”
The Cowboy Carter Tour is already becoming a fan favorite and it is still only in its first city. With such a strong start, fans can’t wait to see what the future holds for this tour. Fresh off her Album of the Year win at the Grammys, it is certainly looking like Beyonce is on top of the world, and we can’t wait to see what happens next.
