This year’s prom brought high schoolers from all different grades together for one last night of celebration before the end of the school year. It was held on May 9, 2025 at Kensington Golf Course and the night featured everything from formal photos, photo booths, catered food and a packed dance floor. Students arrived in their fanciest dress shirts and pants and some unforgettable standout dresses. Leading up to the big night students participated in a dress down week where the themes were, Cinco de Mayo Monday, Too Cool for School Tuesday, Where’s Waldo Wednesday, Thirsty Thursday, and Festival Friday.
Before arriving at Kensington the students and their families gathered at the school at 6:00pm to begin Promenade. Here, students were able to walk down the court and be announced in the gymnasium if they wanted to be announced. Once Promenade concluded, they moved on to the crowning. This year’s court consisted of five girls, Carina Nolfi, Sophia Rach, Gabriella Tunison, Natalee Macejko, and Giana Morales and five boys, Drew Modelski, Kaden Primous, AJ Boehlke, Kenny Day, and Reeve Donatelli. This year’s Prom Queen was Natalee Macejko and the King was Kenny Day, who were crowned by last year’s winners, Elizabeth Rossi and Nicholas Donatelli.
“I was completely surprised when queen was announced and very grateful. It’s a moment I’ll never forget and I am thankful for everyone who made it so special!” said Natalee Macejko.
Following crowning the students left the school and arrived at Kensington. Not long after everyone arrived they were able to eat food catered by the golf course. Some items on the menu were pasta, potatoes, grilled chicken, rolls, and side salads. The refreshments included canned Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite. There was also a cookie table provided by the staff along with cake. There was also a photo booth where students were able to take three pictures with their friends or date and a variety of props to choose from such as crowns, cowboy hats, and funny glasses.
The dance floor was put to use all night with people dancing constantly. Some of the most popular songs that were played were classic line dances such as “Wobble,” “Cupid Shuffle,” “Flex,” “Cha Cha Slide,” “Waka Waka,” and “Cleveland Shuffle” then of course you had your slow dance which was “Die With A Smile.”
As prom wrapped up around 10:00 pm, students said goodbye to friends, and headed out. The event marked one of the final big celebrations for the Class of 2025 and with graduation just weeks away, prom was a way for the seniors to go out with a bang for one last dance.
