As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, fall is filled with seasonal activities that celebrate its beauty. There are several events and activities related to fall such as visiting pumpkin patches, watching football, going to haunted houses, and celebrating Halloween. Whether outdoors or indoors, exploring fall offers endless opportunities to make memories. After asking students about fall activities they partake in, we now know what is popular among the students at Lowellville.
Freshman Olivia Clement, looks forward to certain fall traditions each year. She stated, “Carving pumpkins with my family, visiting Maze Craze, and decorating for fall and Halloween” are among her favorite activities. Of all the events, Olivia’s top pick is Maze Craze, where the corn maze, Craze Café, and hayrides offer a lot of seasonal fun. When it comes to movies, she enjoys the entire Scream series, and her go-to fall treats are apple cider and caramel candies. For Olivia, fall holds a special place in her heart because of the memories she created with her family during her childhood.
Sophomore Nathan Osman looks forward to his favorite fall traditions each year. Among the seasonal highlights are carving pumpkins with his family and visiting the Scare Grounds. His all-time favorite, however, is the annual Halloween parties hosted by his family. For Nathan, the best memories of the season are spending time with loved ones while enjoying a variety of fall activities.
Junior Landen Tych looks forward to “football, picking and carving pumpkins, and visiting White House Fruit Farm,” where he enjoys the seasonal atmosphere. Landen’s plans for this fall include spending time watching Halloween movies and fully embracing the excitement of Halloween celebrations. When it comes to food and drinks, Landen’s autumn favorites are “pumpkin pie, Starbucks fall-flavored beverages, and seasonal protein shakes.” For Landen, fall is a perfect balance of staying active and enjoying the festive spirit.
Senior Kenzie McCormick, shared her favorite seasonal event, “carving pumpkins with my family at Boardman Park.” She also enjoys pumpkin painting, celebrating Halloween, and going apple picking. For Kenzie, apple cider is the ultimate fall treat. These simple traditions remind her of the warmth and joy that fall brings each year.
In speaking with students about their favorite fall activities, a common theme of tradition emerged. Whether it’s carving pumpkins with family, attending local fall festivals, or savoring the seasonal treats, these shared experiences are what makes autumn so special. For many, it’s the memories created with loved ones, friends, family, and even classmates that make these seasonal events so meaningful.
