On Monday, December 16th Santa Claus visited the Ville. He paraded through the elementary hallways with his reindeer, Comet. The band followed them playing traditional Christmas Carols such as “Deck the Halls,” “Jingle Bells,” and “Up on the Housetop.” Santa visited each classroom to greet the students, ask them what they wanted for Christmas, and pose for pictures. The students talked about many different toys, dolls, toy cars, and various electronics they hoped to receive this Christmas. Kindergarteners, Alina, Lydia, and Audriana, are hoping for gymnastics equipment. The third grade students are wishing for different sporting equipment, electronics, and other necessities.
Santa stopped in the classrooms to see the students and asked them what they were looking forward to the most during their break while some said Christmas and presents others focused on family. Kindergartener, Caroline Crilley, said, “I am most excited to be with family and friends.”
The PTO and administration have worked together for the past four years to arrange Santa’s visit. PTO President, Melissa Miner and members of the PTO feel Santa’s visit and Santa’s workshop are great events for the students. Melissa loves having Santa visit the elementary students because “it brings joy into the classrooms.”
Everyone enjoys seeing the students happy and excited before break. Mrs. Parry said, “Doing this for the kids makes this week before Christmas break extra special.”
The Rocket Review wishes everyone a Merry Christmas!
