This year the upcoming 7th graders switched to a new part of the building. They have lockers for the first time, have been learning new responsibilities, and are learning to be more independent. Transitioning to the high school side of the building has been difficult for some of them while others have had an easier transition.
John Crilley is the class president of seventh grade. He has found the transition to the high school easy. Seventh grade has been a lot easier for him than expected. His goal this year is to earn A’s in every class and be on Honor Roll.
I asked 7th graders about their favorite lunches here at school. John said, “My favorite lunch meal is the popcorn chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy with corn on the side.”
Maggie Mastronikolas is a cheerleader at Lowellville. Maggie’s goal for this year is to earn all A’s and be on Honor Roll. In addition to being a cheerleader, she is also in marching band, and her favorite extracurricular is volleyball. Maggie said, “My favorite lunch meal is Italian dunkers.”
Michael Alfano is the vice president of seventh grade. Michael’s goal for this year is to be on Honor Roll because he wants to practice earning A’s for his high school report card to prepare for college. He is involved in football, baseball, basketball and his favorite activity is football because he enjoys being active.
Michael said, “My favorite lunch meal is white pizza with banana peppers on the top.”
Mackenzie Layton is a new student at Lowellville this year. Her favorite thing about junior high is having a locker because she can keep all of her belongings in one place. She has found that there is more school work than she expected. Her favorite subject is social studies because the teacher is very relaxed and it makes the class less stressful.
Mackenzie said, “ My favorite lunch meal is French toast sticks with fruit on the side.”
Frankie Loftus is a cross country runner this year. He has enjoyed staying active and running. His favorite class is character education because he likes going to the 3rd grade classrooms and helping the students. Frankie enjoys having a locker to keep all of his materials organized.
