Elf or Home Alone? Which is the best Christmas movie ever?

Elf or Home Alone? Which is the best Christmas movie ever?

Christmas is the most  wonderful time of the year. Christmas is one most celebrated holiday out of any other holiday. During Christmas time people enjoy activities like sleigh riding, caroling, baking, playing in the snow, and watching Christmas movies. Everyone has their own opinion on what the best Christmas movie is. Some of the popular choices include The Santa Clause 1-3, The Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, A Christmas Story, and Rudolph. One of the biggest debates among Lowellville students is whether Elf or Home Alone is the best Christmas movie. It’s hard to decide which one is the best because both of them have drama, suspense, comedy, and are well written.

Elf is a good movie because it is happy, bright, funny, and brings joy to the viewers. Comedic actor Will Ferrell plays the main character, Buddy the Elf. As a baby, Buddy lived in an orphanage. On Christmas Eve, Buddy crawls into Santa’s bag of presents. Santa discovers him once he gets back to the North Pole and Papa Elf decides to raise him as his own. Buddy grows up thinking he is an elf, until one day he finds out that his father lives in New York and he sets off on an adventure. There are a couple of very funny scenes like when he calls a mall Santa  fake.  Buddy reveals to the kids that this Santa is fake, which causes them to fight one another.  Another funny scene is when Buddy tries to get the star on the tree by running and jumping off of the couch. He ends up dragging the tree down to the floor.

Home Alone  is centered around a kid named Kevin who is left at home on accident by his family. While his family is away on vacation Kevin must take care of the house and protect it from two intruders, Marv and Harry. Kevin puts traps around the house like broken Christmas tree decorations in front of the window, he puts a nail on the staircase hurting Marv as he tries to walk up the stairs to get Kevin.  Kevin heated up the door knob to burn anyone who tried to open it, and was waiting with a flamethrower to burn Harry’s head. his head.

Students at Lowellville were asked which Christmas movie they prefer, Elf or Home Alone.
